San Luis Valley provides amazing, picturesque sights of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and you won’t find a better view of Mt. Blanca than this one. After all, it is one of the largest alpine valleys in the world. Being in the flat lands allows you to have mountain scenery in every direction. I love having the two 14ers, Blanca and Mt. Lindsey towering above but turning to see Teddy, Trinchera, and Cuatro Peaks to the southeast and the San Juans lining the horizon to the west.

You can haul an RV or building material easily. The highway is just a few miles which makes getting to town for supplies convenient. Alamosa is 20 minutes west and can provide all your small city amenities. There are big box stores, medical facilities, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment.

San Luis Valley is perfectly located 2 hrs from Pueblo, 3 hrs from Colorado Springs, 4 hrs from Denver. If you go south it is 3 hrs to Sante Fe and 4 hrs to Albuquerque. We are secluded in the valley by the mountains in a Colorado haven, protected from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The pace is slower, the lifestyle healthier, the air cleaner, and the views more spectacular. People come here to escape the rat race and find so much tranquility they stay. For so many, what started as a weekend or summer retreat turns into a permanent mountain home.
